Zimbabwe Delegation Visits Cotecna Dubai and Wimpey Laboratories.
Cotecna had the pleasure of hosting a high-level delegation from Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce at its Dubai offices and Wimpey Laboratories. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain first hand insights into Cotecna’s rigorous inspection and testing processes, reinforcing the company’s commitment to facilitating seamless and compliant trade between Zimbabwe and global markets.
During the visit, the Zimbabwean delegation, represented by Riyana Chibanda, Phoebe Nyabunze, and Thembikosi Ndlovu from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, was welcomed by Cotecna’s leadership team, including Cedric Serre, Regional Manager for Southern Africa VOC, Kamlesh Parmar, Director – VOC & Commodities, Cotecna Middle East, Dr. Chandrajith AV, Managing Director of Wimpey Laboratories and Tendai Mukonavanhu, representing Communication and Marketing at Cotecna.
The discussions focused on best practices in trade facilitation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. The delegation had the opportunity to tour Wimpey Laboratories, which offers extensive testing, and consultancy services across key industries such as food, consumer products, petroleum, and minerals.
As an appointed body in the Zimbabwe Consignment-Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) program, Cotecna helps in ensuring that imported goods meet regulatory standards before entering the market. The visit allowed the Ministry officials to witness Cotecna’s robust processes in action, fostering confidence in the efficiency and integrity of trade compliance mechanisms.
The discussions during the visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in preventing non-compliance and facilitating a smoother trade flow between Zimbabwe and international markets.
